Chardonnay from Rorick Heritage Vineyard, 2,000 feet up in the Sierra Foothills on schist over limestone: own-rooted Old Wente vines planted in the mid-1970s, farmed organically, made by Cruse Wine Co. with native yeasts in neutral barrels. Orange blossom, pear and apricot, oily, firm and finishing on wet stone.
