The producer
The Dezat family is one of the oldest wine-growing families in Sancerre, with records dating to 1550. Firmin Dezat is the 18th generation to grow grapes and make wine on these ancestral slopes. The estate is small, traditional, and completely uninterested in making noise — the wines do that quietly on their own.
The energy
Breeze primary — the Loire Valley's cool climate delivers the hallmark lifting energy that makes great Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé so compelling: taut acidity, aromatic precision, and the sense that the wine is always leaning forward. Stone secondary — Kimmeridgian limestone and flint soils are the engine behind these wines' mineral intensity.
